The Consulting Surveyors National Professional Standards Scheme has been endorsed by the Professional Standards Councils and will commence on 1st July 2020.  The Scheme has been specifically designed to promote professional standards, enhance consumer protection and to enable private practice members to limit their civil liability to selected amounts provided they meet the Scheme's requirements.

The National Surveying Congress 2021

17-18 June 2021


In response to the current Coronavirus crisis, Consulting Surveyors National has postponed the 2020 Surveying Congress to 17-18 June 2021.


There will be a series of online events during June 2020 to capture the content from the planned 2020 Congress program.

The proposed Association of Consulting Surveyors National Professional Standards Scheme was notified in the press on 11 December 2019. The Professional Standards Council of New South Wales has invited comments and submissions in relation to the proposed scheme from interested stakeholders, until COB on 7 January 2020.

FYFE Surveys the Scene to Find More Workers

(Adelaide Advertiser, June 25, 2019)

Engineering firm Fyfe has warned that a shortage of surveyors is limiting its ability to meet ongoing demand for work on large-scale construction and land development projects across the state. … It’s been estimated that by 2021 Australia will need an additional 2000 surveyors, but relatively few people are entering the industry.

NSW Surveying Businesses Take Top Awards

There were plenty of smiles from winners at the national 2019 Surveying Consultancy Excellence Awards held on the waterfront at Customs House in Brisbane on June 6. Organised as part of the Surveying 2019 National Congress, these awards were established to recognise performance excellence in surveying consultancies across the nation.

Young Surveyors Among Australia's Top Earners

When considering the highest paying jobs for young professionals, lawyers or doctors usually come to mind, yet a recent report, by BIS Oxford Economics, reveals surveyors are in fact among Australia’s highest paid young professionals.

These young professionals are required for every construction project. From the smallest parcel of land, to multi-million-dollar developments, a project cannot commence until such professionals define the legal property boundaries.


Do you need an overseas qualification assessed?

CSN offers a qualification assessment service for  people who have obtained an overseas surveying qualification and wish to get this assessed for equivalency to Australian qualifications.

This service determines whether or not overseas qualifications are equivalent to a Diploma in Surveying from an Australian TAFE (Tertiary Education Institute)
